Shattered Ruins
by Teagan
by Teagan
I see the reflection of nobody
I can see somebody staring, looking back at me
although no one is really there.
the shattered glass amongst the floorboards
from a mirror that once belonged to somebody
the pieces mock my broken heart
the remains scattered like my thoughts and dreams
hoping for a better tomorrow and a somebody to pull through the glass and take over my soul
when will i see myself again?
my sorrows whisper through the fragments
but suddenly, as the seasons change
and the wind no longer whistles,
everything can be mended
the glass can be restored
and so can my broken heart.
