The past is my DNA with pattern recognition
Those pock-marked red dots
in a map that tells you
Those moments you went wrong
directions to lead backward
the roads ahead are endless
and so the thumbtacks stay
What I never noticed
were the increasingly intimidating holes
Threatening to destroy the map underneath
