Her Broken Heart

I breathe and smell blood.

It flows through me and leaks outside.

How you looked at me, when you stabbed me-you resembled a stud.

I showed you my blood, and you dragged me into darkness, pulling me away from my light side.

When my eyes were filled with tears, when your hands were around my throat…

Please, I beg and beg- but I didn’t fight.

You always get on your knees, but never one knee.

I saw that you were a cold blue, but I didn’t see much black beneath.

Can you get on one knee next time you give me your wreath?

I get on my knees and beg, scream.

You whisper, but I hear it louder than my own cries.

Can you wake me up? I don’t want to live this dream.

You hid the scissors-now I can’t break myself away from our ties.

Why can’t you hear me when I say so many goodbyes?
