If love ever finds me

If love ever finds me, I want it to come slow. I don't want it to rush.
I hope it feels like a much needed hug after an exhausting week.

If love ever finds me— I hope it sounds like my favourite childhood song that I had long forgotten.

If love ever finds me— I hope it smells like my room: warm, comfy and familiar.

If love ever finds me—I hope it looks back at me the way my dog did when I would come home from school.

If love ever finds me— I hope it doesn't taste like apples. I hope it's more like oranges: messy, stubborn but sweet.

And when love eventually decides to come to me, I hope it's like sunflowers and summer: warm in its presence, patient in its growth, and kind in its nature.
