Reflections

I sit beside you,
and you touch my hand
as the wind gently blows our hair.
The birds around us chirp,
the sunlight reflects off the stream:
It's a divine dream.
I place my head onto your chest,
your heart beats so intensely, I feel it in my breast.
I evanesce into your mild embrace, the whole world is at once effaced.
The branches lean over our bodies,
The leaves fall into the river to write their own stories.
We watch our silhouettes fuse and draw a figure worthy of angelic muse.
How long we thought we couldn’t be together,
pushed aside by currents, yet finding each other forever.
You are the water, I am the flame,
you are the night, I am the day.
I am the sun that reflects its rays along the waterway,
the fire which ignites as soon as daylight slips away.
I look into your eyes,
and every time I see myself inside them,
the fire’s reflection in the ocean,
cooling in its serene waters, losing motion.
Two worlds intertwined in one,
boundaries are washed, our shadows in the river float.
As I gaze into the river’s flow,
I see our figures dancing in a rhythm slow,
swaying in the ripples of the stream, merging in a palette of sun gleams.
The woods advance to meet the river, engulfed in peace and harmony,
I cuddle close around your body, and sense your balmy skin
as the flame and the water perform their symphony.
