i remember being bullied,
yet when i asked for help
the guidance counselor told me:
"you wouldn't be bullied if you
weren't so weird."

so i embraced my weird girl
from that point on;

those words were the torch
which made me accept
myself as i realized that it was
my job to love myself

as not everyone would—

you could be the prettiest bird,
have the best song to sing;
you could have the most awards
but there would still be someone
out there that didn't like you
just because you were who you are—

so i decided to be me: the weird girl
