Unspoken Ache

I carry your name inside my chest,
A secret wound that will not rest.
Each heartbeat calls, but you don’t hear,
A silent scream no one draws near.
I watch you smile, so bright, so free,
While shadows gather silently.
You move through life without a care,
Unknowing that I’m always there.
My words lie tangled on my tongue,
A song of love that’s left unsung.
I paint your face on midnight skies,
But you look through, with empty eyes.
I wait in corners, out of sight,
A ghost that haunts your fading light.
Hoping once you’ll glance my way,
But knowing you’ll just walk away.
This love I bear is sharp and cold,
A story never to be told.
It’s longing wrapped in endless night,
A candle burned without a light.
No hand to hold, no voice to hear,
Just solitude and falling tear.
For you’ll never know, nor ever see,
The depths of this unyielding sea.
So here I stay, a heart undone,
Bound to love that’s come to none.
An ache that time will not release,
My unrequited, endless peace.
