Youngest Sibling

My biggest regret as a kid
Was wishing to grow up pretty quick
Being an adult is no good news
It just means you’re always on your own
Especially when you’re the youngest sibling
Everyone thinks you’re still a kid
They think your issues are small and silly
And that’s how you’re never properly seen
They say being the youngest kid
Means being the most privileged
We have a reputation of being spoiled
They say we get what we always ask for
When you have an issue they won’t notice
They don’t hear the sound of your weak heartbeat
They don’t see the scars on your skin
They don’t see you drowning in your tears
You turn into the quiet one
Because they look at your issues with a smile
They don’t take your wounds seriously
Because you’ll always be the spoiled youngest kid
And you always get everything you need
Except eyes for your scars
Except ears for your cries
Except hands to heal your heart
Except arms to give you a hug
And you’ll always be known as the spoiled youngest child
